What really are live-action promo videos? Whose heart is not touched by Real voice, real people, and nature? Marketing your product and service with reality is one of the great ways to increase sales and conversion. They are promotional videos created by using cinematography and videography. These live action promo videos use acts and actress instead of any type of animation. They show their ideas using real individuals and nature, now coming back to the essence of the topic, if we compare 2D Animation and Live Action, the style varies from animation effects to the quality as well, in simple words, Coke will not make a 2D animation to target its audience and Nestle will prefer making 2D animations because their target audience is different.
See here the comparison is the comparison between tea and coffee, so it really depends on person to person what they like or you can say at the moment what they prefer depending on their product or service. Live action promo videos show reality in the videos like the thing you really see, whereas animated videos present it in the form of animation which somewhere creates.
In making a film both animatic and live action promo videos present their own pros and cons. Let’s focus on both strengths and weaknesses.
Live action promo videos show each and everything. It focuses on life reality. The show real nature, the real character, the voice is also the original voice of the person standing and speaking in the video. see if you are shooting and making a video for a restaurant and you want to show their food like burgers and sandwiches, so obviously you will have to show the real picture of it rather than animating it because than the original product will not be shown. For e.g. here’s a live-action video made by us
And also here’s a video by Bank of America as well
Showing how things are brought into perspective.
Live action promo videos are quite fast as it does not consume much time shooting it and after shooting it the only work is to edit it, whereas 2D animation requires a lot of work from scripts and voice over to storyboard and animation. Live action promo videos are fast but limited like you can add creativity to it you will just have to focus on what’s present at that moment and in animation you can add whatever you like.
Here’s a link to a video by us , take a look as it has both Live action and 2D animation combined. The difference is visible.
If you want to make your business appear more human and want to show reality you should look forward to live action videos. These videos show real-life focusing on real emotions real characters these things really touches the heart of the people and creates a good image of the brand and the product in their mind. Here’s another example made by us, take a look
In live action videos, further, editing is not possible. Live you can only present what you have shot, see if a mishap happens, your camera breaks or the actor is sick or whatever reason, you will be left back and it will cause a delay in your work and will cause you trouble. On the other hand in 2D, anything can be replaced of edited further until it looks feasible , characters can be changed and illustrated, transitions can be altered, plus the theme can also be changed according to the requirements.
Like we mentioned above, 2D animation is surely cheaper as compared to live action but both are cost effective in their own field of work. A company hopes to achieve 1000$ business and to them, a 300$ video is seemingly very cost-effective, similarly, a company making a 2000$ live action video will hope for a 6000$ business, vice versa. Both are cost effective unless the quality of both styles is done right and used right.
To conclude, we don’t want to give a biased opinion on any one of them, but, we sure are more reluctant to give a verdict that live action is the future because it is now being combined with 2D animation beautifully. Hopefully, with points above you can come to a logical decision of your own.
